Chris Golden has been working in the FX and Bond markets for close to 40 years.
He has extensive hands-on experience on trading floors as a researcher, a salesman and a dealer at Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, UBS, Lehman Brothers and Nomura. After over 20 years on the sell-side he moved to advisory positions and as Chief Economic Advisor at Robert Flemings Asset Management he acquired the practical experience of managing discrete, proprietary and public funds. He headed and created international fixed income research departments both at Lehman Brothers and at Nomura. In both institutions he was the global bond market strategist. At Lehman he headed the effort to create the Global Government Bond Indices.
As a consultant he has advised a large range of institutions in Europe and Asia, including the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Agence France Trésor (AFT), The Irish National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB)
As well as writing extensively for various magazines and newspapers he has appeared on numerous programs including BBC’s Newsnight, as guest host on CNBC’s Squawk Box, and on CNN.
He is a recognized expert on European Monetary Union, Central Banking, Market Liquidity, Government Primary Dealer Systems, Bond Market Mechanics and Financial History. He has participated directly as a consultant in the development of Bond Markets in China, Indonesia, Korea, The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, and much of his current consultancy work takes place in Asia.
He gives 12 full-day seminars per year, each on the same subject, which changes every year. The subjects for the last five years have been:

“The Post-Crisis World of Bonds”,
“Sovereign Credit and Sovereign Debt” and
“Deconstructing The Eurozone Crisis”
He is Chairman of three standing Commissions of the European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS): the European Bond Commission (EBC), the Market Structure Commission (MSC), and the Research Commission. With the EBC he organizes 3 two-day conferences a year, as well as a small number of one day events, featuring high-level speakers from the world of finance. These take place across Europe, especially in Frankfurt, London, Paris and Zurich.
He is currently living in the South of France but working largely as a consultant in Asia and Africa.
